I've been doing a little fine tuning.  Most noticeably, the request page now includes a line at the top and bottom that show the approximate current queue time.  This time is always approximate, and should be viewed as such, especially during live DJ shows where the queue may be adjusted at any time.

Also, the site has been moved from it's old address to a sub-domain of zodcolville.com.  At this point, the site is still entirely separate with a separate user database, separate news, separate everything.  I do have plans to fully integrate the two sites so that while they will vary greatly in appearance, they will share news content and you will only need to register on one site instead of two (assuming you have use for both sites).  In addition to being easier on you, it will be easier on me as well as I will only need to maintain one site instead of two.

I have a few things I am currently working on, some which involve this site, and some which involve other projects.  I currently plan to add some enhanced features to this site, particularly in regard to registered users.  Included among them are an integrated add request system.  Once someone asks for something to be added to the playlist, other users will be able to see these and give a thumbs up or thumbs down.  The higher the rating, the quicker it is likely to be added.  This will also allow you to see the status of any add requests you have pending.  There will also be some new user statistics added.  You'll be able to keep your own favorites list that you can make your requests from instead of browsing the full list.  Additionally, the site will be able to show who requested what (assuming the user is actually logged in when they make the request).

I may also implement the ability to login using third-party accounts, for example if you have an OpenID account or Google account you would be able to use those to login here rather than creating a specific account for this site.  While the methods used to implement these things are secure and this site never actually sees your password for the third-party account, I can understand where some people may be reluctant to use these methods to login, so the ability to set up a separate account on this site will always be available.

Playlist & Functionality Updates PDF Print E-mail

Though the site is functioning as it should be, I continue to make improvements to both the playlist, as well as the functionality of the site.  I still have over 8000 MP3s to sort through, verify tags, and ensure the quality and suitability for broadcast of each song.  This is a manual process and time consuming, but if there is a particular song or artist you are interested in, please let me know and I will get to it as quickly as possible.

This brings me to a new feature that has been added to the site.  At the top and bottom of the request list is now a link to a form to use to request that a song to be added to the database.  Currently, the objective is to go through these and process them within 48 hours.

Additionally, there has been a small change made to the "Top 10 List" on the front page of the site.  Clicking the song title will now request this song.  This means that if one of your favorites is in the Top 10, you can request it faster than ever.   I will also be adding a "Top 100" list which you will be able to view.  This will be a full screen listing and will also allow for quickly requesting songs.

Finally, I am currently working on programming a "booking" system.  This will allow you to request a live DJ for events and parties.

Automated Request System Now Available PDF Print E-mail

A preliminary version of the automated request system is now online.  User registration is NOT currently required to use the request system.  The system is currently set up to keep track of what people most want to hear.  That means the more often you request your favorites, the more often they will be played without being requested.

Look for more features coming in the very near future.
